It’s a space where queer and trans communities step into their self-beautifying and self-crowning in a world that often denies them that freedom. \nLegacy honours this tradition\, celebrating the artistry\, identity\, and resilience that make ballroom a powerful space for self-expression. \nWHAT IS BALLROOM?\nBallroom culture\, also known as Ball Culture\, was born in the 1980s within New York’s Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities. It emerged as a powerful response to exclusion\, creating a space where people could be seen\, celebrated\, and free to express themselves. Today\, ballroom is a global movement celebrating identity\, resilience\, fashion\, performance\, and community. Participants “walk” in categories ranging from high fashion to dance performance\, competing for trophies\, prizes\, and cultural recognition. \nWHO IS THIS FOR?\nLEGACY is for everyone.
